Job description

Overview

Cummings Electrical is hiring an Electrical Engineer at our Integrated Manufacturing Facility in Arlington, TX.

Cummings Electrical is expanding our Integrated Manufacturing team. We design and build custom, integrated, modular systems such as e-houses, electrical skids, HAC's and UL 508A panels for a wide range of projects, including data centers, healthcare facilities, industrial plants, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Using AutoCAD and/or REVIT, create ELEC (E Sheets) for the Issued for Approval, As-built and Closeout Submittal drawing sets.
  • Using AutoCAD and/or REVIT, create Architectural (A Sheets) for the Issued for Approval, As-built and Closeout Submittal drawing sets.
  • Ensure Electrical design adheres to national/local codes and follows all client's needs and specifications.
  • Perform electrical load calculations for each project and verify sizing of electrical equipment and circuiting.
  • Perform lighting design and footcandle calculations for selected fixtures for both normal and emergency operations.
  • Coordinate with Electrical Equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate engineered plan set
  • Equipment Selection and sizing (Up or Down Feeds)
  • Control Operations and wiring
  • Lug quantity and sizing
  • Design, Coordination and Arc Flash Studies
  • Communicate / Coordinate with Engineering team.
  • Keep Engineering Manager in the loop on design issues and resolutions so that they can communicate them to the client/project teams during design meetings.
  • Keep HVAC Engineering in the loop on electrical requirements and spacing needs.
  • Help innovate the modular building ELEC design. Think outside the box. Discuss thoughts and ideas with Engineering Manager. 
  • Answer questions for the Cummings Integrated Manufacturing production/operations team.
Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • 5+ years of engineering experience working with a concentration in commercial and industrial projects; candidates with 3+ years experience will be considered
  • EIT required; PE is a desired
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job 
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner 
  • Able to identify, analyze and solve problems 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong computer software skills including MS Office (particularly Excel) 
  • Experience with SKM is a plus
  • Design experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit required
