Our client is seeking an Electrical Inspector to support the construction of a new hospital in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of electrical inspection experience at a hospital, data center, laboratory, mission-critical facilities or similar. This role is responsible for verifying that electrical systems are installed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. This position is onsite.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical QA/QC, electrical inspection, commissioning support, or field inspection on healthcare, data center, mission-critical, or institutional construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, transformers, and critical power infrastructure.
- Experience supporting electrical commissioning activities, including MOP reviews, equipment startup, Megger testing, torque verification, functional testing, and turnover documentation.
- Thorough understanding of NEC requirements, NFPA 70E electrical safety standards, electrical one-line drawings, schematics, and construction quality processes. NFPA 70E training or electrical safety certifications preferred.
- Experience coordinating or witnessing NETA acceptance testing preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management/documentation platforms such as Procore, Facility Grid, Bluebeam, or similar systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, generators, transformers, automatic transfer switches, and associated electrical distribution equipment to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and quality standards.
- Witness and document electrical testing activities, including Megger (insulation resistance) testing, torque verification, equipment startup, and functional performance testing to support commissioning and system turnover.
- Participate in MOP (Method of Procedure) reviews for electrical energization activities and verify work is executed in accordance with approved procedures, NEC requirements, NFPA 70E standards, and client commissioning requirements.
- Review electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, as-built documentation, inspection reports, and quality records to verify installation accuracy and maintain complete project documentation.
- Identify installation deficiencies and quality concerns, communicate findings to project leadership and contractors, and verify corrective actions are completed while coordinating with engineers and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues.
