About the Role: This role is the onsite inspector ensuring construction is per the drawings, specs, and electrical code.
This role primarily works in WTD's treatment plants and pump stations repairing and retrofitting an aging infrastructure to ensure our product stays in the pipes. Role varies from electrical to instrumentation inspection and integration. About the Team: Our team is dedicated to ensuring quality construction is integrated into our system.
The Electrical inspector is part of an inspection team that consists of Mechanical and Civil/Structural inspectors and Project Representatives. We lead inspections of Capital construction projects updating or replacing our aging system throughout the east side of King County. This includes work in pump stations, conveyance systems, and treatment plants protecting the waters of Puget Sound.

Job Duties What You Will Be Doing: Perform inspection and testing of electrical and instrumentation and control (I&C) installations for assigned construction contracts/projects. Ensure compliance with contract documents and code requirements.
Construction work could occur on any portion of the Wastewater Treatment Division infrastructure including treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance system (WTD's infrastructure is located in northern Pierce County, King County, and southern Snohomish County). Coordinate work with other inspection staff. Provide lead direction to lower-level staff.
Support the administration of small electrical specialty wastewater treatment construction contracts or the electrical discipline on larger contracts. Assist in the review of contractor submittals for electrical construction work for conformance with contract specifications and drawings. Prepare inspection and testing reports, field notes, and other required reports; support change order preparations, contract dispute resolution and closeouts as required.
Implement a defined program of inspection, sampling and testing and startup, and commissioning of facilities and equipment to ensure efficient and effective operations and to identify problems and recommend corrective action. Review and interpret engineering design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with acceptable construction methods and wastewater treatment requirements. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring: Experience in the construction or advanced maintenance of electrical equipment in a water, wastewater, or industrial setting.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and contract specifications, specifically in the field of electrical and I&C. Ability to inspect materials and workmanship and recognize deficiencies and omissions requiring correction. Knowledge of relevant construction laws, ordinances, codes, regulations, specifications and standards.
Knowledge of electrical and I&C systems, especially as applied to wastewater treatment, conveyance and/or other heavy industrial mechanical facilities. Experience in troubleshooting and starting up of I&C systems. Ability to work independently/reliably, without close supervision.

Knowledge of other construction trades. Physical Requirements: Works in an active construction and industrial site at all times. May be required to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and confined spaces.
Workplace Exposures: Exposure to loud noises, confined spaces, wastewater, and other possible construction hazards in a wastewater treatment facility. Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.
