Position Overview

This confidential opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineering professional with a background in the natural gas or petrochemical industry. The selected candidate will support electrical infrastructure, equipment reliability, maintenance activities, and operational improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately complex engineering assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, sound judgment, and problem-solving.
  • Work independently on mid-sized projects and technical assignments that support ongoing operations.
  • Repair, maintain, and improve the operational reliability of electrical infrastructure and voltage systems.
  • Develop, implement, and complete equipment condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Support electrical equipment outages, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repair planning.
  • Maintain and update electrical drawings, technical records, and related documentation.
  • Conduct electrical reviews of Management of Change plans, work plans, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate and review arc flash studies and assist with implementing recommended improvements.
  • Coordinate the work of third-party contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry standards, operational requirements, and safety expectations.
  • Interpret internal and external customer needs, assess technical requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, develop improvement plans, and identify training needs.
  • Follow established company processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Champion safety standards, operating procedures, and engineering best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Consistently meet project goals while maintaining safety, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

Alternatively:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant discipline with an active Professional Engineer, or P.E., license.
  • Minimum of four years of multifaceted engineering experience within the natural gas, petrochemical, oil and gas, or related energy industry.
  • Experience supporting electrical infrastructure, electrical equipment maintenance, voltage systems, or operational reliability.
  • Strong understanding of engineering safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fundamentals of Engineering, or FE, certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering industry standards and methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating arc flash studies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience developing condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Experience reviewing Management of Change documentation and work plans.
  • Experience coordinating third-party contractors.
