Who we are looking for:

GTA Data Centers is seeking a Facility Electrical Technician to support the critical power systems that keep our data centers online. This role covers UPS, switchgear, panels, PDUs, generators, transfer equipment, electrical readings, preventive maintenance, vendor support, and emergency response. It's a great opportunity for an electrical technician who wants to grow in a critical infrastructure environment with strong safety and documentation discipline.


Here is what the role looks like:
As a Facility Electrical Technician at GTA Data Centers, you'll perform scheduled rounds on critical power equipment, record readings and abnormalities, support troubleshooting, and assist with maintenance, testing, and emergency response. Other essential job functions include:

  • Perform scheduled rounds for UPS systems, switchgear, panels, PDUs, RPPs, generators, ATS/STS equipment, battery rooms, and related power systems as applicable.
  • Record electrical readings, alarms, abnormalities, maintenance findings, capacity concerns, and follow-up needs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting power alarms, breaker events, abnormal readings, equipment faults, and monitoring issues within qualification limits.
  • Support emergency power procedures and EOP execution under Director of Technical Operations and Facility Engineer direction.
  • Support electrical preventive maintenance tasks according to approved procedures, legal licensing boundaries, and qualification limits.
  • Support lockout/tagout execution and verification according to approved procedures.
  • Follow arc flash controls, electrical PPE requirements, electrical boundaries, and safe-work practices.
  • Assist with load testing, failover testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, generator support, UPS support, and battery-related observations.
  • Escort and support electrical vendors during maintenance, testing, repair, inspections, and emergency response.
  • Verify vendor work areas are restored and closeout evidence is captured.
  • Support electrical one-line verification, panel schedules, circuit records, BMS/EPMS evidence, labels, DCIM records, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain electrical tools, test equipment, calibration records, spares, consumables, and readiness supplies as assigned.
  • Identify power capacity constraints, overloaded equipment, abnormal heat, labeling issues, unsafe conditions, and urgent risks.
  • Escalate urgent power, safety, or customer-impacting risks immediately through the escalation tree.
  • Perform weekly data hall inspections and provide findings to the Director of Operations and Facility Engineer.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects assigned to support evolving business priorities


Candidates must show:

  • Practical electrical troubleshooting ability with a strong safety-first mindset and respect for critical power systems.
  • Working understanding of electrical rooms, panels, breakers, UPS, generators, batteries, meters, drawings, and safe-work boundaries.
  • Ability to follow MOPs, checklists, lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash controls, and vendor instructions.
  • Good documentation habits for readings, abnormal conditions, maintenance evidence, and closeout notes.
  • Ability to work with vendors, Facility Engineer, HVAC, Infrastructure, Mechanical, IT, and Documentation teams.

Here's what you need to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Electrical trade school, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 or more years of electrical, critical power, facilities maintenance, generator, UPS, switchgear, panel, or related experience preferred. Data center experience is helpful but not required.
  • Valid Guam electrical license preferred and required for independent work where local law requires it. Candidates with strong experience who can work under licensed supervision and pursue required licensing are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with UPS, generators, ATS/STS, switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, batteries, meters, or BMS/EPMS systems is preferred.
  • OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, electrical safety, CPR/first aid, or vendor training preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel between various locations
  • Must be able to pass required background checks and follow data center security, safety, and access-control policies.
