The electrical helper will work on a variety of constructions jobs. This position will work within a team and may be required to travel out of town.
In this position the electrical helper will be eligible to attend our in-house training programs to advance their current understanding of the construction and/or electrical industry.
Job Duties:
• Assist in the assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry.
• Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting.
• Inspect electrical system and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements. Verify proper operation of the electrical system.
• Advise management, customers and employees when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
• Assist estimator with material take-off, material cost and labor allowances.
Experience, Competencies and Education:
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 to 3 years working as an apprentice with an electrical company, no journeyman card needed
• Knowledge of Electrician standards & codes required
• Detail oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift 75 -100 lbs when necessary during the course of performing their necessary duties.
• Work outside in all types of weather.
• Work under time constraints efficiently and have the ability to work well with others.
• Follow all company procedures.
