Summary

Being part of a team, the candidate will be assisting and following the instructions of Foreman to ensure the proper installation of the electrical equipment at highways (CCTV, high mast, LED lights, DMS, service poles…). Installation works will include pulling cable and installing poles and electrical equipment. Assisting the team will include setting up the working areas by unloading materials and tools in a timely manner. At the end of a workday, removing all debris, packing up tools, putting away any unused materials, and taking down, bracing and scaffolding if necessary. Throughout the day, also will be keeping debris away from active worksites to ensure the safety of workers moving about the area. Good attitude is of the essence.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Install electrical equipment, poles, high mast and other equipment required for the different projects.

2. Pull electrical wire from the service points to the different equipment.

3. Assist in the excavation of new ditches, removal of debris, placement of conduits…

4. Assist in the setting up and removal of the daily maintenance of traffic (MOT) to protect the job site.

5. Keep storage neat and organized.

6. Move equipment from storage to job site

7. Good attitude to perform any work that might be required to get the works going.


Minimum Job Requirements

· Experience handling small cranes

· High school diploma or GED; at least 1 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Basic Knowledge of electrical systems

· Ability to use appropriate tools.

· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

· Ability to install lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.

· Although it is not a requirement, it will be very positive to have some experience working on highways (TxDOT or other agencies).


Conditions of Employment

· Possession of a valid Texas driver's license is a requirement for this job. Although Texas Commercial Driver License is not a requirement, it is desirable for the position.

· Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

· Must pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test

· Must demonstrate eligibility to work in U.S.

· Working Conditions and Physical Effort

· Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.

· Working outdoors on and around roadways, under bridges, at heights and in active construction zones.

· Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
