Job description

At 48 Electric, we power some of the most mission-critical facilities in Arizona - from data centers to industrial projects - with a reputation built on Safety, Quality, and Integrity.

Veterans are encouraged to apply! We value the skills and training of our nations veterans!

The Electrical Field Service Engineer (FSE) is a highly skilled field technician responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting the safe operation of mission-critical electrical systems at customer sites. This role requires advanced electrical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability. The FSE works closely with the Technical Writer to execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs), supports emergency response, and ensures all service meets National Electric Code (NEC), OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards.

FSE's must have their own tools, reliable transportation, be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a drug test and background check. We work in a highly professional environment, not a general construction jobsite. Professionalism is a requirement.

    • Commission systems according to engineered specifications and document all startup testing
    • Analyze failures and determine root causes with corrective action plans
    • Interface with client facility teams to confirm power system integrity and schedule testing and repairs
  • 24/7 Emergency Response
    • Maintain 24-hour call-out availability for critical service needs
    • Respond to electrical faults, shutdowns, or customer escalations within required timeframes.
    • Lead restoration efforts with composure and technical accuracy under pressure
  • Documentation and MOP Compliance
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Customer and Project Team Coordination
Qualifications and Industry Standards
  • Active Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent)
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E; manufacturer training on switchgear, UPS, or generator systems (preferred)
  • Skilled in interpreting schematics, single-line diagrams, MOPs, test reports, and load calculations
  • Experience with digital multimeters, megohmmeters, power analyzers, IR cameras, and other diagnostic tools
  • Adherence to NEC, IEEE best practices, and U.S. electrical field service protocols
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., work from ladders, operate equipment at heights, and function in confined spaces
  • Stand or walk for 10+ hour shifts in active jobsite environments
  • Work in hot, cold, or inclement weather as required
Note

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Scheduled field hours Monday through Friday and on-call rotation for 24/7 emergency response.

Benefits
