Job description

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer who is responsible for directing and overseeing the electrical related facilities operations and maintenance functions on site. This role ensures that all facility systems operate efficiently and effectively, and that maintenance policies and procedures are implemented to support site operations. The Facility Engineer will provide technical guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with the other disciplines onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs daily operations and long-term planning of all electrical facility services at the site.

  • Oversees engineering and central plant operations to ensure energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

  • Supports electrical infrastructure by helping to diagnose complex electrical system issues and responding to emergency calls.

  • Presents electrical system status and functionality to team and customers and speaks to any potential complications.

  • Provides technical support to internal teams and leadership for infrastructure-related decisions.

  • Manages the electrical portion of construction and renovation projects from design through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, budgets, and timelines.

  • Develops, interprets, and implements facility maintenance policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.

  • Provides professional electrical engineer input on design submittals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph prior to starting with Leidos

  • 8 - 12 years of experience in electrical engineering.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Active PE (Professional Engineer) certification

  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems.

  • Proven ability to lead electrical facilities operations.

  • Deep understanding of high availability and multi-building electrical facilities operations.

  • Ability to resolve highly complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems across electrical systems.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and clients on technical strategy and results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

  • Recognized subject matter expert (SME) in electrical facilities operations.

  • Experience with electrical construction, systems integration, and testing in field environments.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.

  • Familiarity with Wonderware or Ignition control systems.
