Performs tasks and provides services to support the plant's overall business plans andobjectivesas directed.

What you'll be doing:

  • Complies withestablished job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.

  • Responsible formaintaininga safe and secure work environment.This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions,participatingin monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, asrequired.

  • Supports and follows the SQF (Safe Quality Food)guidelines of the food safety system.

  • Follows company policies,StandardOperatingProcedures (SOP),practicesand Sonoco's Global Code of Conduct.

  • Supervises and coordinates the employees andactivities of the electrical maintenance department.

  • Provides and plans technical training andestablishesindividual development plans.

  • Plansandestimateselectrical jobs.

  • Recommendsprocedure revisions when necessary to fullyutilizeassigned personnel and equipment.

  • Determinesprocedures for maintenance, installation,modificationand repair of electrical assignments.

  • Inspects work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.

  • Examines electrical services for proper working procedures.

  • Plans and executes electrical dispatches using the L2L system.

  • Requestsand adds electrical components and materials to inventory as needed.

  • Plans and executeselectrical PM work.

  • Oversees the electrical installation and maintenance program, including preventative, ofplant machines.

  • Identifiesinefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates with subordinates and contractors to resolveissues.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position will be located in our Columbus, Ohio facility.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.

  • Working knowledge of electrical controls such as PLC's, drives, motors,HMI'sand communication switches in addition to electrical power distribution

  • Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation,selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Ability to effectively instruct and train otheremployees.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read,comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.

  • Experiencetroubleshooting 24 VDC, 120 AC and 480 AC electrical circuits.

  • Capable of programming PLC's, frequencydrivesand other controllers for proper equipment operations.

  • Capable of troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing all electrical equipment, solid state circuits, components, logic boards, transducers, amplifiers, PLC's, Frequency Drives, and inspection devices.

  • Capable ofreading and editing AutoCAD drawings.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

  • Ability to wearappropriate safetyglasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear inappropriate areasand follow safety practices.

  • <10% Travel

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $104,800 to $117,900, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
