CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm that ranks in the nation's Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer, PE to join our dynamic MEP team in Orlando, FL!
The Electrical Engineer, PE is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects. This role focuses on providing innovative solutions to engineering challenges while supervising and executing a variety of projects to meet client requirements. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles to deliver high-quality results and ensure project success.
Duties Include
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, motor controls, and instrumentation.
  • Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Review and approve designs, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality and adherence to project requirements.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve issues.
  • Ensure all aspects of project safety comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, design modifications, and status updates.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to upper management and clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external clients, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with other engineering systems.
  • Support field activities such as site inspections, system start-up, and troubleshooting during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software's platforms.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on industrial, municipal, or commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design and drafting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA guidelines.
