Lead and Strengthen the Engineering Team Behind Landmark Electrical Construction Projects

Fountain Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and strengthen our Engineering Department supporting major commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Southeast.

This is a department leadership role focused on people, technical guidance, problem-solving, quality, and continuous improvement. You will lead a team of approximately 8–10 engineering professionals while partnering closely with Project Management, Estimating, VDC/BIM, Field Operations, Prefabrication, and Executive Leadership.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with strong electrical construction experience who can develop people, establish effective engineering processes, provide technical direction, and help the Engineering team deliver the support our construction projects need to succeed.

Projects You'll Help Support

Our Engineering team supports projects ranging from several million dollars to more than $30 million, including:

  • Charlotte Spectrum Center – $34 Million

  • Appalachian State University Residence Halls – $22 Million

  • Kimpton Hotel Arras

  • Greenville Drive Stadium

  • Ballantyne Reimagined – Stream Park & The Amp

Along with healthcare, manufacturing, industrial, education, municipal, and commercial projects throughout North and South Carolina.

What You'll Do

As the Electrical Engineer, you will lead the Engineering Department and provide the technical direction, resources, and support needed to help our construction teams successfully deliver complex electrical projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop an Engineering team of approximately 8–10 professionals

  • Establish priorities and assign engineering resources based on project schedules, workload, and company needs

  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to engineers and project teams

  • Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, constructability, and field usability

  • Support engineers in resolving complex design, coordination, and construction challenges

  • Partner with Project Management, Estimating, VDC/BIM, Field Operations, Prefabrication, Procurement, and Executive Leadership

  • Improve engineering processes, standards, workflows, and quality control

  • Establish consistent engineering practices and expectations across projects

  • Identify opportunities to improve constructability, efficiency, prefabrication, and project execution

  • Support Design-Build and Design-Assist projects from concept through completion

  • Provide technical input on electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents

  • Assist with value engineering and technical solutions that improve project outcomes and control costs

  • Help identify engineering and project risks before they impact construction

  • Use project schedules and construction priorities to guide engineering deliverables

  • Monitor department workload, performance, quality, and project support

  • Foster accountability, collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement within the Engineering team

  • Work with Executive Leadership to develop the Engineering Department and support the company's continued growth

What We're Looking For
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering and/or commercial or industrial electrical construction experience

  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineering professionals

  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and commercial electrical construction

  • Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents

  • Working knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical construction practices

  • Strong understanding of constructability, project sequencing, and field installation

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical and construction issues

  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, project managers, field personnel, and executive leadership

  • Experience improving department processes, standards, workflows, or quality systems

Technical Experience

Experience with construction and engineering technology such as:

  • AutoCAD

  • Revit

  • Bluebeam

  • Navisworks
