Dewberry is actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MS. If you're an accomplished PE with over 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design, particularly in power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems, this is your opportunity to lead exciting projects and mentor the next generation of engineers!

In this pivotal role, you will provide crucial technical guidance and training to our design team, ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems across a variety of private, public, and federal projects. You will assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Your expertise will allow you to collaborate with electrical, architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines, delivering comprehensive services that meet client expectations on time and within budget. This position will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Key Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field); Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • 8+ years of technical experience in the design of electrical systems with proven oversight on multiple projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of power distributionlightinglife safety, and telecommunications systems

Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we do associated with electrical engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with electrical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:

  • Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
  • Technical training and development of staff.
  • Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
  • Engineer of Record.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • Technical interface with code officials and contractors.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months. 
  • Accomplished electrical engineer 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on projects.
  • Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Well organized, takes good notes.
