Job description

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.

WHOOP is hiring an Electrical Engineer II to help develop the next generation of wearable technology that enables members to better understand and improve their health and performance. As part of the Hardware Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Software teams to design, prototype, validate, and launch high-volume consumer electronics. You are a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering reliable products from concept through production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and develop low-power, mixed-signal electronic circuits for wearable products, contributing from concept through production.

  • Create schematics, support PCB layout, prototype hardware, and perform bring-up, debugging, and characterization using standard laboratory equipment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements, execute verification and validation plans, and resolve technical issues throughout product development.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product launches and high-volume production.

  • Research and evaluate new components, technologies, and design approaches to improve product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

  • Up to 15% travel domestically and internationally to partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS or greater in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 2+ years experience in relevant fields

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuit design, power management, signal integrity, and common communication interfaces.

  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using ECAD tools such as Altium or equivalent.

  • Hands-on laboratory experience with soldering, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

Interested in the role, but don't meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! The WHOOP compensation philosophy is designed to attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent by offering competitive base salaries, meaningful equity, and consistent pay practices that reflect our mission and core values.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company's long-term growth and success.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $150,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.

These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs.
