Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Sustaining Engineering group. This role involves supporting and enhancing existing printer product lines, troubleshooting electrical issues, and collaborating across teams to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve electrical issues in production and fielded products.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Recommend and implement circuit and PCB design improvements.
- Conduct tolerance analysis of electrical components.
- Prepare and process Manufacturing & Engineering Change Orders (MCOs/ECOs).
- Maintain schematics, BOMs, and PCB layout documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain).
- Develop and execute test protocols for electronic components, circuits, and systems.
- Evaluate returned products, perform electrical analysis, and provide reports.
- Support suppliers with component quality or obsolescence issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH).
- Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage small-to-medium sustaining projects with moderate supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical/electronic design, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing support.
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, PCBAs, and embedded electronics.
- Proficiency in PCB CAD tools, schematic design, and circuit analysis.
- Experience with ECOs, BOMs, and PLM systems (Windchill, Arena, Agile).
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with printers, copiers, or electromechanical office equipment.
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and PCBA assembly processes.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers).
- Experience with supplier collaboration, cost reduction, and component quality improvements.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH).
