Your New Role
  • Work as an Electrical Engineer at the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho

  • Provide day-to-day technical and strategic asset management support to maintenance and operations teams

  • Conduct electrical engineering analyses and develop drawings, spreadsheets, calculations, databases, and technical documentation

  • Troubleshoot power distribution, instrumentation, electrical controls, motors, and related systems

  • Support ongoing maintenance of power distribution switchgear, motors, and motor control systems

  • Perform electrical load calculations to evaluate power demand and operational duty cycles

  • Specify transformers, switchgear, cable sizing, and other electrical equipment based on load calculations, environmental conditions, operational requirements, and future expansion

  • Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, NEC requirements, site standards, and safety requirements

  • Monitor site adherence to electrical engineering codes and safety standards

  • Manage engineering design consultants and coordinate design activities associated with capital projects

  • Assist with tendering and awarding engineering design requirements

  • Provide design input to ensure engineering solutions meet operational and permitting requirements

  • Manage electrical engineering design schedules to support construction timelines

  • Provide oversight during construction, commissioning, and electrical system startup

  • Manage and maintain E-TAP electrical system models

  • Maintain and update electrical one-line drawings, AutoCAD drawings, and prints

  • Support contractor management, document control, scope change control, equipment procurement, and project administration

  • Coordinate with civil and mechanical project teams to integrate engineering, design, construction, and commissioning activities

  • Develop or support engineering standards and standard operating procedures

  • Implement Operate for Reliability strategies across engineering and project work

  • Follow established safety, environmental, operational, and project requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role, or a relevant Trade/Journeyman certificate with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of similar experience

  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering, power distribution systems, instrumentation, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, and electrical infrastructure

  • Ability to perform electrical load calculations, power demand evaluations, cable sizing, and equipment specifications

  • Understanding of NEC requirements, electrical codes, engineering standards, and safe work practices

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Ability to maintain electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, technical records, and engineering documentation

  • Experience supporting engineering projects, construction, commissioning, or equipment procurement

  • Mining industry experience, including general knowledge of underground, surface, or concentrator operations, preferred

  • E-TAP or electrical power system modeling experience preferred

  • Ability to collaborate with maintenance teams, operations personnel, technicians, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
