Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and coordinate electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and federal projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

The Electrical Engineer will:

  • Provide engineering support for electrical design projects.
  • Complete portions of larger engineering projects or manage less complex projects independently.
  • Plan and design electrical infrastructure improvements.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and exhibits.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, architects, and other design professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Prepare:
    • Electrical drawings
    • Specifications
    • Engineering calculations
    • Design documentation
  • Develop and modify electrical models and construction documents using Autodesk Revit.
  • Coordinate designs with:
    • Architects
    • Structural engineers
    • Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines
  • Conduct site visits to:
    • Document existing conditions
    • Support construction activities
  • Ensure designs comply with:
    • National Electrical Code (NEC)
    • Applicable industry standards
    • Client requirements
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Assist Project Managers in delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Travel throughout the continental United States, including access to military installations and government facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 1–5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of:
    • National Electrical Code (NEC)
    • Applicable electrical engineering standards
  • Strong:
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to successfully pass a company background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using electrical analysis software, such as:
    • SKM PowerTools
  • Previous consulting engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of government design standards, including:
    • Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
    • Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)
