Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - System Architect

Location: Irvine, CA

Work Arrangement: On-site

Position Summary

This role is responsible for leading the development of top level electrical/electronic system architecture for UAS platforms from initial concept through full system integration. The position performs hands on electrical design, including circuit and subsystem development, and drives data informed decisions through comprehensive trade studies. It also defines and maintains Interface Control Documents and subsystem requirements to ensure compatibility and performance across the system. The role collaborates closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, while guiding electrical integration, testing, and validation activities to ensure reliable, high-quality UAS system performance.

Required Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated capability in architecture development for UAS or airborne platforms.
  • Expertise in electronics engineering, including circuit design for SMPS electronics, high speed communication, and common serial interfaces.
  • Experience with component selection for prototype to productization.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining ICDs and defining electrical subsystem requirements.
  • Experience supporting troubleshooting and root cause investigations in complex systems.
  • Background in regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defense, or Government contracting.
  • Experience with PCB design including schematic capture and layout, using CAD tools such as Altium
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Significant background in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Airborne ISR, or low-cost expendable aircraft design.
  • Experience in production/factory environments, including DFM/DFA and documentation for manufacturing.
  • Experience developing embedded software.
  • Familiarity with system safety, EMI/EMC compliance, and environmental qualification testing.
  • Previous leadership or principal-level roles in cross-functional system architecture efforts
Education:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, or Computer Engineering

This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.
