Our client is seeking a Sr. Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and operation of advanced electromechanical systems operating in challenging environments. This role combines systems engineering, controls engineering, instrumentation, and hands-on troubleshooting within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The successful candidate will contribute throughout the full product lifecycle, including concept development, design, integration, testing, commissioning, deployment, and ongoing operational support. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering projects, collaborate with highly skilled technical teams, and play a key role in the development of innovative technologies.


Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Development
  • Design, develop, and support complex electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems.
  • Contribute to the selection, evaluation, configuration, and integration of sensors, actuators, control hardware, and processing electronics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, mechanical, electrical, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Support the design, assembly, testing, commissioning, and installation of electrical systems and components.
  • Develop engineering work packages, including technical scopes, schedules, and budget estimates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level technical issues.
  • Participate in all phases of product development, from concept and design through deployment and operational support.
Technical Documentation

Develop and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with established standards, including:

  • System specifications
  • Design documentation
  • Block diagrams
  • I/O lists
  • Requirements matrices
  • Risk assessments
  • Interface control documents
  • Test plans and reports
  • Safety procedures and operational documentation
  • Perform engineering calculations and maintain accurate technical records.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance
  • Adhere to company quality, safety, and engineering procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support risk assessments and implementation of safe work practices.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes, systems, and documentation.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience designing, developing, and supporting electrical and control systems in industrial, automation, manufacturing, or other technically complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical system design, instrumentation, controls, and system integration.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience working with marine, offshore, industrial automation, robotics, autonomous systems, or complex mobile equipment.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, deployment, field service, or operational systems.
