LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is forging anAmerican energy future with integrity, innovation, and positive impact. Born in Texas in 2003, we own andoperateover30utility-scalewind, solar, and energy storage projects in local communities across the United States, totaling4gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.

LRE continues to help meet increased U.S. energy demand through our robust pipeline of new projects every year.Domestic jobs and manufacturing are fundamental to our full-lifecycle approach to projects, along with a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the natural environment.

Company Overview:

This position provides electrical engineering (P2) support on issues in the Leeward portfolio of operating projects with the primary responsibility of providing solutions to improve overallwindand solarplantsoperating reliability and safety. The goals of this position are to manage and resolve critical electrical system issues that meet company guidelines for safety and compliance. The position requires the ability to manage complex and time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the engineering and operations teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide engineering support to optimize electrical equipment safety and reliability

  • Identify, review and diagnose problems impacting electrical system reliability and performance by analysing data and performance, troubleshooting, and equipment inspections

  • Manage substation and collection short term and long term maintenance programs

  • Managessubstationrelays including programming, backup files, remote support and operational analysis

  • Support operating facilities with electrical troubleshooting, including review of digital fault records, relays, and other operational data for electrical tripping events and mis-operations.

  • Assist with maintaining and improving Leeward electrical system specifications for new and operating plants

  • Analyzes, summarizes and communicates findings regularly with Leeward management team

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity withHV Substationprotection and control; HV Substation designed is preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, protection system, wiring diagrams and other common specifications

  • Ability to work in Extra High Voltage Substations, with exposure to high electric and magnetic fields

  • Ability to perform short circuit, load flow, protection system coordination, and arc flash experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with latest versions of the following Code/Standards

  • NFPA 70E

  • NFPA 70B

  • NESC

  • NEC

  • OSHA (1910.300, 1910.269)

  • PE RegistrationPreferredor ability to obtain within 3 years of employment

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-engineers

  • Ability to remain focused and reliable in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and manage technical projects, including interaction with outside vendors

  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a complex and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license

Educational Requirements:

  • 4-Year Bachelors Engineering Degree

Preferred Work Experience:

  • 4or moreyears of relevant technical experience;renewableexperiencepreferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locations in order to inspect and repair equipment or collect information

  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 25%
