Description

The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and development of complex electronic power systems for the defense industry, including power converters, inverters, voltage regulators, and power distribution units. Candidates must be interested in analog electronics, creative, self-motivated, and able to apply their knowledge to solve challenging technical problems. 


Our team is responsible for developing designs for a variety of advanced systems including missiles, radars, aircraft, launchers, etc. Engineers will troubleshoot electronics, perform system and circuit-level analysis, develop and maintain technical documentation, support failure investigations, and collaborate closely with lead project engineers on product development. 

  • Work with cross-functional teams on new product development and internal R&D activities.
  • Review applicable military and industry requirements, specifications, and standards as design inputs to prepare electrical circuit schematics for power converters, filters, and logic circuits.
  • Design transformers and inductors.
  • Complete printed wiring board placements and routing.
  • Select parts per requirements, working from a wide variety of electro-mechanical component experience.
  • Prepare engineering analyses like electrical stress/derating analysis, worst case parts tolerance analysis, failure mode effects and criticality analysis.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to CCA and component levels.
  • Help resolve issues on production lines and in testing.
  • Assist in developing production assembly and testing instructions, processes, and fixtures.
  • Operate and automate test equipment.
  • Present electrical designs during customer-facing reviews.
  • Provide technical support to customers and associates.
  • Maintain a detailed record of progress for each project.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time is required.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design or equivalent required. 
  • Digital, Analog, and/or Power electronics coursework preferred. 
  • 0-2 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience with EAGLE, MATLAB, and Python preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.  
  • Knowledge of electronic components and their application.
  • Enjoys hands-on work in a lab environment.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multitask work across simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply military and industry standards.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with mindfulness, and the ability to self-check, self-manage, prioritize initiatives, and work well in a team environment.
  • Superior writing, listening, and verbal communication skills.
  • A creative mind with a desire to suggest improvements and new ideas to solve challenging technical problems.
