Job description

Position Summary

The School of Engineering at Liberty University seeks an instructor in electrical engineering to teach courses in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in electrical engineering, including Electrical Systems, Analog and Digital Electronics, Industrial Automation and Control, Embedded Systems, and PLC fundamentals.
  • Maintain the integrity of course content and instructional programs.
  • Ensure teaching delivery aligns with Liberty University’s mission and vision for the student experience.
  • Create an academic atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration for individual dignity.
  • Assist with curriculum development for both residential and distance‑education programs.
  • Engage in research, scholarship, or creative activity as expected by the college or school and provide service to students and the discipline.
Qualifications
  • Earned master’s degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate coursework in the specific teaching field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Electrical Systems, Analog and Digital Electronics, Industrial Automation and Control, Embedded Systems, and PLC fundamentals.
  • Strong commitment to the values of Liberty University, including a biblically informed Christian worldview.
Employment Details

Instructors are contracted for 10 months (30 load hours). Release from contracted teaching load is determined each semester by the Dean per the Liberty University Faculty Handbook.

Time Type: Full time. Location: Lynchburg – In‑Office.
