Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, or Houston, Texas.

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend cost-effective improvements and modifications.
  • Design complete electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, generator systems, and controls for building systems.
  • Develop project designs from planning through construction, including equipment evaluation and field verification.
  • Perform site visits, witness testing, and support construction‑phase services.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with technical accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers in design development and professional growth.
  • Provide quality control reviews for design documents to ensure technical adequacy.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 4+ years of experience in facility engineering.
  • Experience across project phases including planning, design, and construction.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in electrical power, lighting, and generator design for building electrical systems.
  • Ability to be licensed as a PE in other U.S. states.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
