Job description

At i3 Product Development, Electrical Engineers playย a central roleย in bringing complex products to life. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, UX designers, software engineers, and clients to develop thoughtful, reliable electronic systems that power real products used in the real world.ย

Our projects span medical, agriculture, industrial, consumer, health and wellness, and recreation industries. One day you may be architecting a connected device integrating BLE, Wi Fi, GPS, and a display. Another day may focus on low-power design, rigid flex PCB layout, or system-level integration for a new embedded platform. With more than 100 projects each year, the work is varied, hands-on, and fast-paced.ย

About The Roleย

This role supports a range of experience levels. Earlier-career engineers will have opportunities to build strong fundamentals in embedded systems, circuit design, and system integration. More experienced engineers will lead electrical architecture decisions, influence technical direction, mentor teammates, and partner directly with clients. In all cases, you will be involved fromย earlyย conceptsย through product launch.ย

We support our team with strong benefits, including a zero-deductible health plan, meaningful retirement match, and employee ownership, so you can focus on doing great work and growing your career.ย

What You Will Doย

  • Design electrical system architectures for embedded and connected productsย
  • Develop circuit designs and perform schematic captureย
  • Create and review PCB layouts using modern ECAD toolsย
  • Supportย electromechanicalย integration with cross functional teamsย
  • Plan and execute electrical design verification testingย
  • Participate in system integration and product validationย
  • Work with software engineers on firmware and communication interfacesย
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliabilityย
  • Collaborate directly with clients and manufacturing partners as neededย
  • Mentor or support other engineers based on experience and interestย
  • Continuously build your skills through varied project work and shared learningย

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplineย
  • Professional experience in electrical design and embedded systems developmentย
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools, Altium Designer preferredย
  • Understanding of circuit design fundamentals and PCB layout best practicesย
  • Experience with communication protocols such as BLE, Wi Fi, CAN, RS 485, SPI, I2C, or similarย
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional environmentย
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing prioritiesย
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions thoughtfullyย

Nice to Haveย

  • Five or more years of experience in product developmentย
  • Low power design experienceย
  • Rigid flex PCB experienceย
  • Client-facing or consulting experienceย
  • Interest in technical leadership and mentorshipย (Senior Roles)ย

ย
Why i3ย

At i3, Electrical Engineers do not work in isolation. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, see your work move quickly from concept to production, and help shape products that make a real impact. We value curiosity, accountability, and engineers who care about both technical excellence and team success.ย

ย
Benefits and Perksย

  • Health insurance with a zero-dollar deductible and employee premiums as low as seven dollars per pay periodย
  • Dental and vision coverageย
  • 401(k) with a dollar-for-dollar match up to six percentย
  • Employee Stock Purchase Programย
  • Company paidย short- and long-termย disability insuranceย
  • Company paid life insurance at two times your annual salaryย
  • Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accountsย
  • Paid time off plus nine paid holidaysย
  • Emergency Assistance Fundย
  • Charitable Match Programย

This role supports a range of experience levels. Compensation is aligned to experience, demonstratedย impact, and level of responsibility, including technical leadership and client partnership where applicable.ย
