Our innovative projects include lighting, power, energy management, and life safety systems. ย  As our new Electrical Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to power and light the spaces in which the people of your community live, work, and relax. ย  ย  In this role, youโ€™ll work with a diverse array of private and public clients to design and develop custom lighting, power, and electrical systems. Whether youโ€™re designing a fire alarm system for an office, or developing a lighting solution for a 30-story residential building, youโ€™ll feel good knowing your work will impact people across Ontario for years to come. ย  Your tasks will include: ย  * Meet and consult with clients to identify project needs and determine design parameters * Work closely with our team of designers to develop, model, and review lighting and electrical designs ย  * Work with clients to iterate designs as necessary throughout the construction stage * Visit job sites (within 100km of our office), 1-2 times per week to inspect project progress and see your designs come to life * As you gain experience, get involved with the project proposal and quotation stages ย  This is a unique opportunity to bring your electrical engineering expertise to a small, and close-knit team, where your efforts and impact will be recognized and valued immensely. ย  Youโ€™ll enjoy a flexible and autonomous work environment, where your success will depend on your collaborative working style, your consultative approach to clients, and your superb communication skills. ย  ย  Working with Mighton Engineering ย  With over 250 projects completed each year, youโ€™ll enjoy new challenges and exciting learning opportunities regularly. We keep up with cutting-edge technology, and strive to be on the forefront of electrical design (we canโ€™t wait for you to check out our virtual reality room, where youโ€™ll model your projects!). ย  With us, there is no doubt that youโ€™ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. We care about investing in our employees for the long-run, and if you ask our team, theyโ€™ll tell you thatโ€™s just one of the many reasons why they stick around. We want to be a place where they can experience career growth and satisfaction for many years โ€“ and with 28 years in business, weโ€™re proud to have achieved that already. ย  Hereโ€™s what else youโ€™ll enjoy as part of our team: ย  * Competitive salary between $80,000-$100,000/year (negotiable depending on experience) + health and dental benefits * 3 weeksโ€™ vacation to start (negotiable depending on industry experience) + extra time off during our winter holiday closure ย  * Full-time, permanent role with flexible scheduling available (core hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm) * Leave early on Fridays throughout the year + Friday afternoons off in July and August * All travel expenses paid * Paid attendance for industry training and conferences ย  Qualifications ย  * Registered P. Eng in Ontario (or close to obtaining your P. Eng) * Experience working as an electrical engineer * Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical engineering design * Project experience with any of the following would be an asset: lighting solutions for residential and/or commercial projects, high voltage design, fire alarm design * Experience consulting with clients in an engineering capacity is preferred ย  * Post-secondary degree in electrical engineering ย  * Valid driverโ€™s license and a reliable vehicle (for client and job site visits) ย  How to Apply ย  Our online application gives you the chance to apply as more than just a resume. Weโ€™ll assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, which should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.ย After submitting, you'll be able to view your results. ย  We striveย to build diverse teams that reflect the community, and encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as women, visible minorities, Indigenousย peoples, people identifying as LGBTQ2SI,ย veterans,ย and people with disabilities.ย  If we can make this easier through accommodation in the recruitment process, please contact us using the โ€œHelpโ€ button. ย  We will review applications,ย with priority given to those who have completed the assessment and look forward to hearing from you.
