Engineer I - Electrical

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC)

Position Summary

Zachry Engineering Corporation is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to support power, energy, and industrial projects. Working under the guidance of Lead and Senior Engineers, this role will assist with electrical design, calculations, technical documentation, and engineering coordination while gaining experience across all phases of project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of electrical engineering experience (internships and co-ops considered).
  • Basic knowledge of NEC and electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel and support field activities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining EIT.
  • Internship or co-op experience in power, utility, industrial, or EPC environments.
  • Familiarity with ETAP or similar electrical engineering software.
