Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead electrical engineering efforts for smaller projects and assigned project elements from concept through completion.
  • Support senior engineers on larger and more complex projects by leading assigned tasks and areas of responsibility.
  • Design electrical systems for buildings and structures, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and related electrical systems.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
  • Develop and edit technical specifications using MasterSpec, SpecsIntact, or similar formats.
  • Perform electrical design analysis and calculations to support project requirements and engineering decisions.
  • Develop electrical input for Design Analysis Reports and other technical documents.
  • Perform design and drafting using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Utilize SKM Power Systems software and other engineering tools to support electrical analysis and design.
  • Conduct on-site electrical assessments, surveys, inspections, and construction observations.
  • Prepare written reports and documentation based on field observations and engineering findings.
  • Perform technical quality control and constructability reviews of calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate and communicate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, regulatory agencies, clients, and other project team members.
  • Generate workhour estimates for smaller electrical engineering projects.
  • Assist with project proposals, reports, design documents, and client communications.
  • Monitor project scope and budget and proactively communicate potential risks or scope changes to project leadership.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and assist with training and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of calculations, drawings, client communications, and field observations.
  • Maintain required professional registrations, licenses, and continuing education requirements.
Job Requirements:

  • Experience with electrical engineering projects involving buildings and structures.
  • Experience with power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm design, and other electrical systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM Power Systems software.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, engineering reports, calculations, and design documents.
  • Experience performing construction observations and on-site electrical assessments.
  • Ability to perform technical reviews of engineering work prepared by other engineers and designers.
  • Familiarity with federal design criteria, including UFC, DoD, and VA requirements, or the ability to learn and apply these standards.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to travel and attend client or company meetings as required.
Working Conditions:

This position includes both office and field responsibilities. Field work may require climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; working around construction activities and equipment; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; wearing appropriate protective equipment; and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
