Job description

Electrical Engineer / Designer | Kansas City, MO | 

Join a collaborative MEP engineering team and take on meaningful electrical design work across commercial, retail, residential, education, and entertainment projects. This role offers the opportunity to work independently on complex designs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, interact directly with clients, and grow into a key technical resource.

What You’ll Do
  • Design electrical systems, perform calculations, and develop layouts, drawings, and schematics.
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, BIM, and project management teams.
  • Research equipment and systems and recommend effective, practical solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings, site surveys, inspections, and project coordination.
  • Support project delivery, quality control, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Mentor and assist team members while contributing to continuous technical improvement.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering preferred, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong electrical engineering design and calculation skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes and their application to electrical design.
  • Working knowledge of how electrical systems integrate with structural, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
