The Role We Want You For

The Electrical Engineer will support the design and implementation of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and other high-reliability environments. Working alongside a Senior Electrical Engineer on each project, this mid-level role is responsible for producing detailed electrical designs, performing analyses, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure that meets demanding uptime and efficiency requirements in a fast-paced, design-build environment.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Develop electrical designs for mission-critical projects under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
  • Produce medium- and low-voltage power distribution, grounding, UPS, standby generator, and redundancy designs (N+1, 2N, distributed/block-redundant) for data centers and other high-availability environments.
  • Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, structural, and EPMS teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and field observations.
  • Contribute to client meetings and presentations, supporting the senior engineer in communicating technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the mission-critical industry.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET institution required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Electrical Engineering; mission-critical, data center, or high-tech manufacturing project experience preferred.
  • EIT required; PE License preferred or actively pursuing.
  • Working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power system design, redundancy planning, and energy efficiency strategies for high-reliability facilities.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower for power system analysis; exposure to AmpCalc or CYMCAP for cable ampacity analysis is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience working in a design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
