We provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction to institutional and government organizations. We are a design-build contractor with extensive BIM and LEED expertise, as well as specialty experience working on complex marine, pump station, and water and wastewater projects.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer 2 assist and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on the assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, perform routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
  • Assist in management of project permit process
  • Track and inspect material deliveries
  • Hiring and recommend termination of subcontracts/vendors including negotiations, sub agreements, material agreements and POโ€™s
  • Management of Subcontractors and vendors schedule, performance, and payments, including the exercise of decision-making to reschedule and/or re-coordinate work to ensure compliance with applicable project schedule
  • Ensure compliance with Small Business requirements
  • Complete understanding of the Contract including HPAโ€™s contractual obligations and the Ownerโ€™s obligations
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent staff
  • Ensure timely notices as required to the Owner to protect HPA interest regarding extra work, design changes, delays, impact, etc. which requires independent contract analysis
  • Ensure project delivers a quality product meeting HPAโ€™s high quality standards
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Three (3) to Four (4) years working as Project Engineer in the Pump Station Construction or Heavy Civil Construction industry
  • Estimating skills a plus
  • Familiar with grading, drainage, paving (asphalt and concrete), bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical and mechanical and all other pump station construction scopes
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • E-Builder, eCMS and/or RMS experience is preferred
  • Procore experience is preferred
  • Bluebeam experience is preferred
  • Autodesk Revit experience is preferred
