Title:                Electrical Engineer

Client:              Architecture and Engineering Firm
Duration:         Full-Time (Permanent)
Location:         Palatine, IL
Work Model:    Hybrid

Role Summary

Mid- to senior-level Electrical Engineer supporting building systems design across multiple market sectors.
This role offers flexibility to function as a Project Engineer or Managing Engineer under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Strong focus on client interaction, multidisciplinary coordination, and long-term facility planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems including:
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting & lighting controls
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Support sustainability and energy-efficiency improvements
  • Write and edit technical specifications
  • Conduct document quality reviews
  • Research design solutions and prepare cost estimates
  • Support long-term facility planning for clients
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
  • Participate in coordination, user, and site meetings
  • Propose equipment, product, or system modifications
  • Qualify final electrical equipment and systems
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation
  • Monitor installed systems to improve future designs
