Where is the work:
Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
The Electrical Designer II plays a key role in the design and documentation of electrical systems for Trane Water-Cooled and Air-Cooled Chiller products. This position applies electrical design knowledge and CAD tools to develop schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and supporting documentation for new product development, product updates and manufacturing support. Reporting to a Lead Designer, this role may also work within a collaborative team environment led by a Senior Designer to support product quality, performance and continuous improvement.
What you will do:

  • Produce designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
  • Document parts and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments. Exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems. Detects and corrects errors.
  • Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes.
  • Maintain competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
  • Maintains awareness and adherence to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • May be required to travel to various locations to support products and/or train personnel.
  • Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from Engineers or senior staff. Work direction, content and accuracy reviewed by Engineers or senior department members.

What you will bring:
  • Associate's Degree in Design or Engineering Technology (or related discipline) is required; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
  • Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Pro Engineer or CAD/AutoCAD.
  • Customer driven, innovative and quality-minded in performance of all assigned duties.
