Design Electrical Engineer  Job Summary:As a member of our engineering group this position will be responsible for the electrical engineering design of products used in military and defense applications. Must be proficient at circuit design, both hardware and firmware, and development of test plans for products that will be used for Human to Machine Interface adhering to Military Standards 461 and 810. Receives Direction From: Vice President of Engineering Provides Direction to:  No direct supervisory responsibilities Examples of Essential Functions:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Project lead, on various programs that will encompass design development, ATP's, qualification/testing and coordinating these activities with internal and external resources.  Design, generate circuit designs using Altium or equivalent software and create drawing packages for distribution for quote and manufacture.  Technical expert for products developed. Work with manufacturing partners to manage the overall electronic design and manufacture of the products. Based on the customer inquiries, statement of work this individual will manage the complete product development cycle from concept to design, prototype, validation, testing, manufacturing, quality assurance and customer delivery. Most of these tasks will be outsourced but the Electrical Engineer will be the contact point for the entire project. Product support as it pertains to production and quality assurance of the products, by working closely with operations to aid in the technical management of our partners.  Track and report, progress of design activity, process of manufacturing, and procedure of quality assurance with the partners as needed to deliver the products with the highest quality standard. Qualification Guidelines Education/training/experience:S. or higher degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development from the design to manufacturing phase.PCB design, firmware development (C/C++, Python preferred) and layout experience (Altium is preferred) is a must. Experience with necessary test equipment and standards to meet military standards 461 and 810.A team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with various departments and all level of personnel with diplomacy and emotional maturity.Able to make independent decisions and set priorities based on technical and business trade-offs.Be self-motivated, project and schedule driven, and able to perform tasks with minimum supervision. Knowledge of:  Technical proficiency in Military Standards 22885, 461, 704 or 810 is a plus. Physical Standards:This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing.
