Electrical Design Engineer - Power Systems

Hybrid (3 days in‑office / 2 remote) full‑time position based in Long Beach, CA.

Job Description

We are an award‑winning engineering firm specializing in electrical, mechanical, and technology integration services. Our team is looking for a mid‑level Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in Power and Energy Systems to design mandatory building and infrastructure projects, including educational campuses and port facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the design of electrical systems, including medium and low voltage power distribution.
  • Perform field verification, site assessments, and system evaluations.
  • Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Manage construction administration tasks, including RFIs, submittals, and site visits.
  • Conduct power system analysis, including arc flash and short‑circuit coordination.
  • Work independently on infrastructure design projects with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power and Energy Systems or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical power systems design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
  • Experience with infrastructure or port projects is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with medium voltage projects is a plus.
