About the role, Your Impact

Concentric Integration provides full-service automation of water/wastewater systems (including design, implementation, and support). The Senior E&A Design Engineer is primarily responsible for the design of Water/Wastewater electrical power distribution and technology improvements for municipalities. Senior E&A Design Engineer works in two capacities, Consulting Engineering and Integration Design.

Consulting engineering projects are in multidisciplinary teams to create design documents for process improvements at Water/Wastewater facilities. Design documents include electrical site and building plans, Single-line Diagrams, Lighting Plans, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, along with detailed control panel schematics, and other related documents.

The Senior E&A Design Engineer will work with contractor, integrators and project managers to complete construction project to meet design intent.

What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job
  • Reports to Design Engineering Director for work responsibilities, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Leads design efforts for projects with consulting engineers and end users.
  • Provide constructability review for electrical and automation design documents with in a multi-disciplinary engineering project.
  • Provide quality and coordination review of shop drawing and O&M submittals.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to design engineers.
  • Design electrical distribution systems, including one-line diagrams, plan drawings, panel schedules, and equipment elevations.
  • Coordinates the electrical design for automation, controls, and related SCADA systems for water/wastewater processes, including communications, PLC architecture, instrumentation, and related software and hardware.
  • Reviews/prepares project specifications as they pertain to electrical, instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Review instrumentation and control system submittal packages as part of electrical design.
  • Review and update design standards to maintain compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and good engineering practice.
  • Visits client sites to investigate existing field conditions as required for preparing design documents.
  • Collaborates with construction inspectors at job sites to assess field conditions and develop practical design solutions that ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • 7+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Design Engineer.
  • Advanced Computer Skills, Literacy, & Proficiency.
  • Must possess effective oral, written, and digital communication skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout Concentric Integrations service area (Approximately 10% travel to Houston area clients).
  • Must be able to easily interact with other design staff and with consulting engineers.
  • Must possess effective organizational skills for productive task and time management.
  • Must be able to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Visio experience a plus
  • P.E. license is preferred.

Compensation: The pay range for this role is $105,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
