Construction Project Manager / Estimator – Lead High-End Commercial & Healthcare Builds


We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager who will oversee projects from preconstruction estimating through final closeout. This role combines project management with preconstruction estimating responsibilities.


Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will drive projects from pre-construction estimating through final closeout across premier commercial and healthcare environments. In this dual-impact role, you will balance field execution with precise administrative financial management to deliver complex builds on schedule and within budget. Joining Med-Tek Contracting means taking direct ownership of high-visibility projects that directly shape client trust and operational success.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Oversee all project phases from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through final closeout while serving as the primary client contact.
  • Produce precise, competitive cost estimates and manage project financials including budget tracking, forecasting, and change orders.
  • Develop and maintain CPM project schedules in MS Project to monitor the critical path and implement necessary recovery plans.
  • Direct subcontractor activities on-site to enforce safety compliance, contract scopes, quality standards, and progress timelines.
  • Lead Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) enforcement across active healthcare environments.
  • Manage complete document control including drawing revisions, RFI logs, submittal logs, and change orders using Procore.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and sign-offs to compile final warranty packages and certificates of occupancy for client turnover.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management and estimating experience in healthcare, institutional, or commercial builds.
  • Direct hands-on experience managing active healthcare facility renovations with complete ICRA and ILSM compliance responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of NYC Building Code, NYC DOB filing requirements, FDNY regulations, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Project for CPM scheduling, Microsoft Office Suite, and QuickBooks software.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret full construction document sets across architectural, structural, MEP, and civil disciplines.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and a personal vehicle for travel to active job sites across the NY metro area.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
  • Experience managing projects within major health systems such as Mount Sinai, NYU Langone, or New York-Presbyterian.
  • Expertise in multi-trade estimating covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and civil scopes.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
