Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Drafter/Designer with 3โ€“5 years of hands-on experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD). The ideal candidate will have experience with SolidWorks and a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).


The Drafter/Designer will prepare formal engineering drawings under the guidance of a senior engineer. Drawings will be developed using existing parts, photographs, engineering sketches, and working prototype parts and assemblies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare formal engineering drawings using standard engineering drawing templates.
  • Create drawings based on physical parts, photographs, engineering sketches, and prototype assemblies.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to understand drawing requirements and design specifications.
  • Develop drawings for mechanical parts, electrical cables and connectors, and electrical/electronic assemblies.
  • Create outline and installation drawings for electrical circuit card assemblies.
  • Apply CAD standards and engineering documentation practices.
  • Incorporate appropriate GD&T concepts into engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical personnel to ensure drawings accurately represent design requirements.
  • Make revisions and updates to drawings based on engineering feedback.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with direction while developing increasing independence in completing assigned drafting and design tasks.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Experience creating formal engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or electromechanical parts and assemblies.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Previous experience supporting engineering teams in a drafting/design capacity.
  • Experience working with electrical cables, connectors, circuit card assemblies, and installation drawings.
