Job description

Electrical Engineerย focuses on the intersection of enclosure design and electrical system integration. They are responsible for the layout, wiring, and thermal management of components housed within metal cabinets, such asย industrial control panels,ย switchgear, andย power distribution units.

Core Responsibilities

  • Schematic Design:ย Create detailedย electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using tools likeย AutoCAD Electricalย orย EPLAN.
  • Enclosure Engineering:ย Collaborate with mechanical teams to ensureย electrical componentsย fit within the physical constraints of the sheet metal chassis.
  • Thermal Analysis:ย Calculateย heat dissipationย requirements and specify fans, air conditioners, or heat exchangers to protect internal electronics.
  • Programming & Logic:ย Develop and troubleshootย Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)ย code andย HMIย (Human-Machine Interface) screens.
  • Compliance & Safety:ย Ensure all designs meetย UL 508Aย standards for industrial control panels andย NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
  • Prototyping:ย Oversee theย wiring of first-article buildsย and perform high-pot, continuity, and functional testing before mass production.
