POSITION:ElectricalProfessional Licensed Engineer (PE)
Job Location: BatonRouge, LA
Status: FullTime
Starting Pay: Salary commensurate with experience level.
Business Hours: Monday through Thursday, nine-hour days, and Friday, four-hour day; Additional hours may be required based on project needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must clearlyconvey the following:
  • Graduate Engineer - Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (from an ABET accredited program).
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana or ability to gain through reciprocity within 6 months.
  • Strong background in electrical power systems design, construction, and construction drawing bid package preparation for distribution systems, generators, and AC drives.
  • Experience of 8 years minimum in power system engineering; including substantive representation from the following work elements:

1. Modelingutilizing ETAP or similar software.
2. Equipmentand electrical distribution modeling
3. Arcflash analysis and incident energy calculations
4. Protectivedevice coordination and voltage drop calculations
5. Ductbank analysis
6. Electricalconstruction related experience (480V to ~35kV)
7. Underground,overhead, and in-facility cabling systems design
8. NEC codeexperience in defining construction designs and safety systems.
9. VFD /Motor design through medium voltage
10. Professional client communications, meetings,and interactions.
11. Project team member duties shall include technicaldesign and assisting the project manager with scope development, man-hour &cost estimates, scheduling, meeting, and coordination efforts.
12. Coordinate, participate, and overseeactivities and personnel relating to collecting modeling field data.
13. Coordinating, supervising, and performingdetailed engineering activities, and as a Professional Engineer of Record for adesign project; including the use of applicant's Professional Seal.
VALUEDEXPERIENCE (NON-REQUISITE):
• Experiencein the planning and design of drainage pump stations, waste water treatmentfacilities, roadway lighting systems, and moveable bridge systems.
• Experiencein construction engineering services and inspection
• Experiencein project management
• Abilityto write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Abilityto effectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanagers, clients, customers and the general public
• Abilityto define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Experienceusing computer assisted engineering design software, specifically AutoCAD orMicrostation
• Controlsystem description, design, and details based on client input.
• Supervisoryexperience.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Duties include, but are notlimited to, providing engineering and technical support within the ElectricalEngineering Department through services such as project development, detailedproject planning, front-end engineering and detailed design, opinion of constructioncost, and technical construction engineering and inspection for a variety ofelectrical projects. Use of engineer seal is required for projects thatapplicant is in responsible charge.
Some specific examples oftypical duties are included below:
1. Responsiblefor providing engineering and technical support within the EngineeringDivision.
2. Preparesor directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans,construction schedules, and project designs.
3. Analyzesreports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs for planningand design.
4. Usescomputer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepareengineering and design documents.
5. DirectsCAD personnel to convert designs to working drawings.
6. Performsquality control/quality assurance review of engineering documents.
7. Visitsconstruction site to monitor progress and other duties per the client contractdocuments.
8. Assistsin pricing, estimating, scoping, marketing strategies, and business developmentfor proposed projects.
9. Estimatesand monitors project man hours and budgets.
10. Responsiblefor project schedules and timely completion of projects.
11. Supervisesand monitors client relationship strategies and attends client meetings ‑‑ daysor nights.
12. Providesmentorship and leadership to others through example and sharing ofknowledge/skill.
13. Participatein active team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
14. Assist asand where needed to deliver a quality product on schedule.
