Check out this NEW Opportunity with Axient! Axient is seeking a Part-Time Senior Radar Engineer/Scientist in support of Sensor Systems Engineering and Technical Support (SSETS) for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) B Department. Position is Part-Time in Dahlgren, VA.

What you will do... The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B) through their Advanced Sensor Systems Division B40 and Sensor Data Exploitation Division B60 support multiple Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems. B40 provides Sensor Systems expertise across the entire acquisition Life-Cycle from concept exploration through sustainment of Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems.

B60 provides sensor data collection, exploitation, fusion, modeling, and concept exploration for translating data into strategic advantage. Skills you will need... Must have an active or transferable DoD security clearance prior to starting work.

Must be able to maintain the required clearance. US citizenship is a requirement for DoD clearance eligibility. Education: (a) A Bachelor's degree from an a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics (b) A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics (c) A Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.

General Sensor Engineering Experience: General Experience is defined as experience since award of degree. (a) Minimum fifteen (15) years since award of Bachelor's degree (b) Minimum twelve (12) years since award of Master's degree (c) Minimum eight (8) years since award of Ph.D. degree Specialized Experience: (a) Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specific knowledge areas: 1) Radio frequency hardware design and/or fabrication 2) Demonstrated knowledge of antenna engineering 3) Demonstrated knowledge of signal processing and Electronic Protection (a.k.a.

Counter-Counter Measures) (b) Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration. (c) Program/project level engineering experience in major sensor systems. (d) Solid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of work.
