Our technology enables operations from soccerfieldsized spaces, unlocking thousands of new locations and enabling what we call Direct Aviation: quiet, efficient, pointtopoint travel closer to where people live and work.

Headquartered in Manassas, VA, with additional operations in Switzerland, Electra is backed by industry leaders and advancing toward certification. We're a growing team of innovators working at the forefront of sustainable aviation-every hire plays a critical role in shaping the future of flight.

The Role

As our Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead the development, integration, and optimization of the electrical power systems that enable Electra's flagship ninepassenger EL9 aircraft. This is a highimpact technical leadership role responsible for the architecture, performance, safety, and certification readiness of the aircraft's electrical systems-including power distribution, energy storage, conversion, and protection.

You'll collaborate across propulsion, avionics, flight controls, and structures to ensure seamless system integration while driving engineering rigor, innovation, and reliability across the full aircraft lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Lead electrical system architecture - Own the design of aircraft electrical systems including generation, conversion, distribution, and energy storage
