Job description

Everforth ECS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the RPL team in Chantilly, VA.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work on high performance RF systems used for Radar and Flight Termination System (FTS). Based on system requirements, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team of RF Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Software Engineers, to derive solutions, perform verification testing, and troubleshoot any issues. A successful candidate will solve complex problems and complete hardware and firmware designs and perform hands on testing.
  • Analyze customer requirements and derive detailed system, subsystem, and component-level specifications to drive electronic designs.
  • Participate in major reviews such as: Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR).
  • Develop Electrical Designs at various levels from component-level up to system-level to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) for electronic assemblies and systems.
  • Develop test scripts for automated testing.
  • Integrate Custom and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and sub-assemblies to create complex RF systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation on design, user manuals/guides, and testing procedures.
  • Contribute technology innovation discussions with coworkers and stakeholders to help advance the ECS mission.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 15% of the time, several times a year) to support installations, testing and other project related activities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineer, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with 1-3 years related experience.
  • Experience performing Schematic Capture and PCB Layout of multi-layer PCBs.
  • Experience in digital circuit designs for FPGAs, microcontrollers or processors, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • In depth knowledge of engineering standards, theories, concepts, and techniques relevant to electrical and electronic systems.
  • Proven experience with circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting for analog and
  • Proficient in creating custom test configurations and operating test equipment, such as Signal Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meter (DMM), Signal Generators, Network Analyzers (PNAs/VNAs), Power Meters, Frequency Counters, and Logic Analyzers, to support the testing and verification of electronic systems in various applications, including communications, radar, and computing.
  • Experience developing and publishing technical content from concept to completion, including test procedures, test reports, engineering analyses, white papers, operations/user manuals, and design review materials, in collaboration with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Security Clearance.
