Job Description
Position Summary:
Teledyne FLIR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Niceville, FL to support the design, development, and testing of advanced infrared camera systems. The role focuses on high-performance PCB design and development, with FPGA firmware design experience preferred, and involves global collaboration with other engineers, product managers, and technicians.
Your Contribution:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will apply mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical/electronic system designs. They will contribute to the design, development, and testing of infrared cameras including electrical equipment, components, and/or systems. They will be exposed to high-tech infrared camera development projects that demands a high-level of engineering and problem-solving skills. This position requires at least a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and at least 5 years of PCB design experience. FPGA firmware design/development experience is preferred as well. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will report to the FLIR Niceville, FL R&D manager and daily tasking will be guided by the local project team lead. They will work directly with other senior engineers to develop new and improved designs and solutions.
What You Will Do:
  • High-performance printed circuit board schematics and layout design and development
  • FPGA firmware design and development
  • Active participation in daily stand-up meetings, monthly sprint review/planning meetings, and project meetings
  • Innovate, develop, capture, and document new intellectual property
  • Write product manuals, application notes, and technical papers

What You Will Need:
  • BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • Experience with Altium Designer PCBA design tools, Altera Quartus FPGA design tools, Atlassian (JIRA and Confluence), and Perforce preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools required
  • Good problem-solving, communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
