Work Arrangement
This is an onsite position.

Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer 3 position plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and leading larger projects. As a more experienced contributor, ownership of larger tasks and leadership of team members will be expected. This key player will combine technical expertise, mentorship, and problem-solving skills to design, implement, and maintain electrical systems such as vehicle avionics, battery and power subsystems, radio communication systems, navigation, and computer vision systems, etc. as well as design PCB's and review PCB's from schematic. This role will provide direct support for new product introduction and integration as well as onsite technical support for production operations provide triage support and the linkage between production and design engineering.  

Essential Functions
   Design, develop and test electrical systems and equipment for military, industrial, commercial, and consumer use related to Unmanned Systems             (UAVs, UGVs, USVs) of various types.

    Selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability and determines design approaches and parameters.
   Works with avionics, embedded systems (microcontrollers, FPGAs, Single Board Computers etc...), and Radio Frequency (RF) links. Supports               Flight Test operations, demonstrations and exercises as needed.
   Develop and maintain electrical control systems, including wiring diagrams and schematics.
   Analyze and interpret technical data, such as specifications, blueprints, and schematics, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and                         regulations. Familiarity with military standards related to reliability and safety.
   Collaborate with and Lead teams of other engineers, technicians, and clients to identify and resolve technical issues and improve system                       performance.
   Plan and oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
   Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide technical support to production staff as needed.
   Lead customer funded efforts, and aid in the transition of these efforts into production.
   Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
   Stay current with new technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering.
   Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
   Expert knowledge of common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB, MIPI)
   Proficient in circuit design with knowledge of embedded microcontrollers, video image processing, battery technology, motor controllers, and power         distribution.
   Strong ECAD skills applying knowledge of electrical design software for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium (Preferred), Eagle PCB,                     Autodesk Fusion360, KICAD, etc...) required

Strong Knowledge of the following:
Electrical simulation tools such as LTspice
Radio Frequency (RF) simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
MCAD with Autodesk Fusion360 and/or SolidWorks
Embedded processors such as ARM, and embedded programming skills therein with C/C++

   Familiarity with gas and battery-powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and associated avionics and electronics such as IMUs, AHRS, BLDC           motors, etc...
   Test and Debug abilities with common lab equipment including DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Logic                   Analyzers, etc...
   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
   Good leadership skills including managing a team through software such as Jira or Confluence.
   Ability to problem solve at a high level with little technical guidance from leadership.
   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
   Comfortable working in a lab environment assembling and testing equipment

Education / Certifications
   Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
   Master's degree in an applicable electrical engineering or related field is preferred

Experience
   6+ years of relevant work experience
   Experience troubleshooting electrical problems on transition from design to production assets
