Job Description
IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide, we are currently seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Sylacauga, AL plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles and composite rolled roofing in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment. The successful candidate will be fully qualified and able to maximize plant performance and run time through troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment while upholding all safety rules/regulations and adhering to the IKO values.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breakers and fuse disconnects.
  • Manage assigned work orders.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
  • Work in a team setting with other maintenance personnel.
  • Work with computers, line drive, and PLCs,
  • Ability to run conduit and knowledge of relevant codes.
  • Understand and comply with all safety rules, including Lock, Tag, and Verify.
  • Comprehend and use technical manuals and schematics.
  • Organize work area, tools and parts.
  • Work with minimal supervision; manage time effectively while handling multiple jobs with varying priorities.
  • The position is subject to 24-hour call out; shift and weekend work.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods. Must be able to climb stairs and work on high up areas.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Safety Systems and their application/use

  • Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a plant setting.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic, PLCs and Programming.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and testing motors and motor control circuits.
  • Experience with various instrumentation sensors and transmitters.
  • Must be able to work with computer based maintenance software.
  • Possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • (Not Required but helpful)l Associates Degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or Licensed Electrician.
