Job description

Title: Designer A - Electrical

Location: Pascagoula, MS

General Function

The Designer A - Electrical is responsible for preparing layouts, engineered designs, technical drawings, and diagrams using drafting techniques based on technical specifications and instructions. This role involves collaboration across departments to ensure designs meet regulatory standards, company guidelines, and project requirements.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

The following statements outline the general scope of work and should not be considered an exhaustive list of responsibilities:

• Design detailed work for electrical systems and components.

• Coordinate with other sections to ensure design alignment.

• Review and check drawings as needed, which may require access to all production areas.

• Ensure adherence to CAD standards for consistency and accuracy.

• Design using Bollinger standards and common materials whenever possible.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and job specifications.

• Follow Bollinger standard practices and procedures, including PRNs, ECPs, EARs, Budget Requests, and drawing checkouts.

• Coordinate and review vendor information to ensure design compatibility.

• Collaborate with internal teams for seamless integration of design elements.

• Incorporate and document feedback from owners, regulatory agencies, and other governing bodies.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of design principles and drafting techniques.

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

• Ability to effectively use drafting materials, CAD software, and equipment.

• ShipConstructor and Navis experience desired

Experience & Training

• Completion of two years of college coursework equivalent to an Associate's degree in Industrial Technology or a related field.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

• At least 6 years of design experience.
