Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer (EE)Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing new electrical systems and analyzing existing systems to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective industrial power solutions. This role performs engineering analysis, system design, diagnostics, quality assurance, equipment inspections, and technical troubleshooting while ensuring projects are completed on time and in accordance with applicable codes and client specifications.

The Senior Electrical Engineer also provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and supports continuous process improvement. This position reports to the Manager of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering and offers the opportunity for future promotion into that leadership role following a successful transition.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, revise, and approve electrical engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and work schedules.
  • Design industrial electrical power systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating and enhancing engineering processes and standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities, conferences, technical training, and industry networking events.
  • Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, engineering documentation, and company procedures.
  • Analyze existing systems and identify opportunities for improved performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Utilize engineering software, design tools, and electrical system calculators to support multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct technical research, equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses.
  • Mentor, train, and assist with onboarding junior engineers.
  • Promote a safe, collaborative, and positive work environment while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Experience
  • 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience within an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with industrial process instrumentation, including:
    • Control valves
    • Pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters
    • Flow measurement technologies
    • Process automation and control systems
  • Experience using ETAP electrical engineering software.
Required Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical power systems.
  • Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality engineering deliverables.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
