Description

 Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a statewide leader in commercial skilled trade services, delivering high-quality electrical, mechanical, and plumbing solutions throughout California. We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our office in Tracy, CA. This role is responsible for data entry, maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records, coordinating administrative tasks, and supporting efficient day-to-day departmental operations. 

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and highly attentive to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct routine inventory audits
  • Process new hire paperwork in coordination with the corporate office
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments regarding vendor invoices, purchase orders, and inventory-related transactions
  • Prepare and provide operational updates and departmental reports to management
  • Coordinate with Fleet Management to schedule service appointments for technician vehicles
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Wholesale Purchasing team
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of orders, and inventory updates
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, service technicians, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and address purchasing-related inquiries
  • Assist with departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Previous administrative, purchasing, or data entry experience within the construction industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing materials, supplies, and terminology highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel 
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM alphanumerically
  • Proficient in proofreading and auditing with strong attention to detail
