Job description


Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical components, equipment, products, and systems for industrial purposes pertaining to the manufacture and operations of Boilers, Deaerators and other boiler room related equipment.
Functions to be performed:
  • Providetechnical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineeringproblems are encountered during the manufacturing of boiler roomequipment.
  • Direct andcoordinate manufacturing, installation, and support of electricalequipment to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customerrequirements.
  • Perform detailedcalculations to compute and establish manufacturing and installationstandards and specifications
  • Inspectcompleted electrical installations and observe operations, to ensureconformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance withspecifications and safety standards
  • Preparespecifications for the purchase of materials and equipment from suppliers
  • Supervise andtrain team members as necessary
  • Analyze,interpret, and troubleshoot information to resolve design- relatedproblems
  • Write proceduresfor electrical equipment and installations
  • Reviewengineering and customer specifications regarding electrical requirementsfor equipment to be manufactured
  • Support testingof electrical components on equipment at SBW's facility and other testingfacilities off-site
  • Prepare drawingsand procedures with details and clarity for facility personnel to follow

Requirements
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor ofScience degree in Engineering or at least 5 years of engineeringexperience in a mfg. environment.
  • Ability tocommunicate verbally and in writing
  • Must be capableof following verbal and/or written instructions
  • Must be capableof good articulation when talking on the telephone with customers
  • Must have goodmathematical skills
  • Knowledge ofmanufacturing and industrial skills
  • Must know andpractice good drafting procedures
  • Must possessgood electrical/mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Detail minded
  • Able and willingto assist with troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor when needed
  • Have the abilityto sit for long periods of time
  • Have the abilityto grasp, stoop, squat or to perform duties with reasonable accommodation
  • Proficient withcurrent computer programs and applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience inASME code processes, fire tube and hot water condensing boilers and burnermanagement systems, electrical control panels, and experience with ULtesting.
