Experienced Used Car Technician

Mazda of Claremont – Claremont, CA

Mazda of Claremont is growing, and we're looking for an experienced, highly skilled Used Car Technician to join our team. We operate out of a state-of-the-art facility with modern equipment, a strong leadership team, and a commitment to providing our technicians with the tools and support they need to succeed.

This is not an entry-level technician position. We are looking for an A-Level technician with a proven track record of accurately diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning a wide variety of makes and models.

If you're the technician everyone turns to for difficult diagnostics, can consistently produce quality work, and take pride in getting the job done right the first time, we want to talk to you.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive technician experience
  • Used Car Reconditioning experience is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • Advanced diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to efficiently perform major mechanical repairs, drivability repairs, suspension, steering, brakes, engine, transmission, cooling system, HVAC, and electrical repairs
  • Experience using factory and aftermarket diagnostic equipment
  • Strong understanding of vehicle inspections and identifying needed repairs
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity
  • Proven history of producing quality work with minimal comebacks
  • Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
  • ASE Certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Responsibilities
  • Perform complete used vehicle inspections and identify all necessary repairs
  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Perform engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, HVAC, electrical, and drivability repairs
  • Diagnose complex electrical and intermittent issues quickly and accurately
  • Perform maintenance services and reconditioning work to dealership standards
  • Accurately document inspections, diagnoses, and repair recommendations
  • Work closely with the Used Car Manager and Service Team to meet production goals
  • Help reduce cycle time by completing repairs efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures

You should be comfortable working on multiple makes and models every day and be able to transition from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics and major repairs with confidence.
