Job description

Residential Electrical Sales Representative

Our client is looking for an driven and technically knowledgeable Residential Electrical Sales Representative to help fuel the company's continued growth. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on electrical experience — either as a licensed or trained electrician or in electrical sales — who is ready to transition their technical credibility into a revenue-generating sales career. The Salesperson will be the primary point of contact for residential customers seeking electrical service, repair, and installation work, translating technical assessments into clear, trustworthy proposals that close business. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will play a critical role in expanding the company's residential customer base while upholding the technical accuracy and professionalism the company is known for.

Essential Duties:

  • Generate, pursue, and close residential electrical sales opportunities (service, repair, and installation) to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Visit customer homes to evaluate electrical systems, diagnose needs, and identify additional service opportunities for upselling.
  • Prepare clear, competitively priced, and technically sound estimates and proposals for residential customers.
  • Educate homeowners on electrical safety, code requirements, and options in a way that builds trust and confidence in the company.
  • Track leads, follow up on estimates, and maintain consistent communication with prospective and existing customers through to close.
  • Partner with the President, office staff, and field electricians to ensure smooth handoff of sold jobs, accurate scope and material list, and realistic scheduling.
  • Act as a professional, knowledgeable face of the company in customers' homes and in the community.
  • Identify opportunities for referrals, repeat business, and partnerships (builders, property managers, real estate agents) that support company growth.

Requirements:

Required:

  • 2–3 years of experience as an electrician and/or in electrical sales (residential preferred).
  • Solid working knowledge of residential electrical systems, terminology, and basic code requirements.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and trust with homeowners.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a personal pipeline with minimal supervision.
  • Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check as required for in-home service work.

Preferred:

  • Existing relationships with local real estate agents, contractors, or property managers.
  • Familiarity with residential electrical estimating/CRM software.
  • Experience selling electrical panel upgrades, EV charger installations, or whole-home generators.
  • C-10 electrical license or apprenticeship background (not required, but a plus).

We are an equal employment company, with a drug-free workplace. In addition to the competitive wages and incentives, we provide the opportunity to become an integral part of the continued growth of our organization. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. If you consider yourself qualified for this position, we encourage you to apply.
